About The Position

AMECO is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Project Business Analyst I. The Business Analyst will work closely with executives, cross-functional business leaders, and essential personnel to supply required business analytics tools and report to drive growth and meet strategic objectives. They will work to build and maintain reporting systems (Power BI, OneStream, etc.) that enable efficient analysis of past performance to predict future actions. Other primary functions will include collaboration with IT to ensure appropriate data is warehoused for use in business intelligence dashboards, creation of regular forecasts, preparation and reviewing of reports, and participation in processes across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Statistics are preferred major fields.
  • 0-3 years of business systems or other relevant experience.
  • High proficiency in data modeling techniques.
  • Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical competency and data gathering skills.
  • Good business acumen.
  • Proven work experience in a quantitatively heavy role.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Power BI, and/or Tableau and database programs.
  • Excellent problem-solving capability, able to break down problems into smaller pieces to isolate the root cause.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications in project management or financial analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking.
  • Analyze data and create models for decision support.
  • Report on performance and preparing for regular leadership reviews.
  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Work closely with the teams to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Evaluate performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization.
  • Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; study proposed changes in methods and materials.
  • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad‐hoc reports and tools.
  • Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools.
  • Maintaining proficiency with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data query/data management tools is extremely helpful (SQL & Business Objects).
  • Grow performance through analysis of company results, forecasts, variances, and trends.
  • Create recommendations to be presented to management and executives.
  • Develop models to support valuation, planning, and forecasting.
  • Aid in capital budgeting and expenditure planning processes.
  • Reconcile existing transactions through cross‐referencing of incoming and outgoing data.
  • Maintain up‐to‐date technical knowledge of instruments, market conditions, and trends.
