About The Position

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP is hiring a Project Biologist for a remote, part-time, on-call role. The biologist conducts biological and avian surveys in or near project work areas, assesses habitats for birds, bats, and other biological species, and helps protect trees and wildlife during clearing activities. The role includes preparing biological survey reports documenting surveys and any mitigation measures taken. The position operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment, while also requiring the ability to sit or stand and move freely for up to eight hours per day. Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Wildlife Ecology, or a similar field.
Experience in avian biology.
10 or more years of experience.
Ability to sit or stand for up to eight hours per day.
Ability to move freely for up to eight hours per day.

Responsibilities

Prevent damage to trees marked for protection, their root systems, and overhead branches.
Assess habitats, including nests and other dwellings for birds, bats, or other biological species, as needed in the area.
Conduct avian surveys in accordance with the project scope of work.
Survey possible habitats on the morning of or the day before clearing activities begin.
Be present during tree-clearing activities.
Be prepared to rescue any downed nests.
Apply mitigation measures based on the level of protection afforded to a species; measures may include delaying tree clearing or attempting to rescue nests, as directed by the biologist.
Prepare biological survey reports for inclusion in the Property File, documenting surveys in or near the work area when necessary and any mitigation measures taken.
