About The Position

Dime Commercial Bank (Dime) is hiring a Part-Time Project Assistant in the Audit Department. The role assists the Audit Manager with planning, executing, and reporting on audit projects. It is a hybrid, part-time position based at Dime’s Headquarters in Hauppauge, Long Island. Requirements

• Currently pursuing or possessing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Basic knowledge of banking operations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze data, identify control weaknesses, and document findings accurately and professionally.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills, including the ability to review data, identify discrepancies, and maintain accurate audit workpapers.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with team members and interact professionally with various departments while handling sensitive and confidential information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a part-time capacity while meeting deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• Progress toward professional certifications such as CPA or CIA.

Responsibilities

• Perform audit procedures, including testing transactions and reviewing controls, to support the internal audit plan and ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
• Document audit results, prepare workpapers, and identify control deficiencies or process improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with audit team members and business units to follow up on audit findings and track remediation efforts to completion.
• Work on various ad-hoc projects.
