This role will be based in our Houston Office, on an in-office basis. Regular in-office presence is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building. Position Summary The Litigation Project Assistant will assist the attorneys and paralegals in the Litigation Department in all stages of Litigation from pre to post trial duties.

Requirements

  • The candidate must be a self-starter and also a team player and work well under periodic pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented and able to learn new technology quickly.
  • Candidate must demonstrate professionalism, excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Candidate must have excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude and the ability to multi-task.
  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to work on multiple matters simultaneously in an organized manner under minimal supervision while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, as well as document management and other office technologies

  • Ideal candidate will have one year of project assistant/paralegal experience supporting the Litigation Department in a law firm.

Responsibilities

  • Assists attorneys in preparing and organizing case files and documents.
  • Manages and maintains electronic and physical filing systems for case-related materials.
  • Coordinates and schedules meetings, hearings, and depositions.
  • Conducts research and gathers information relevant to ongoing litigation cases.
  • Prepares and edits legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
  • Tracks deadlines and ensures timely submission of court filings and other documents.
  • Supports the legal team in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and materials.
  • Maintains confidentiality and security of sensitive legal information.
