About The Position

The Project Analyst role involves eliciting requirements from stakeholders, critically evaluating information, and collaborating to establish technical visions. The analyst will facilitate meetings, prepare business and functional requirement documents, and ensure projects are on schedule and meet expectations. This role utilizes standard project management techniques to develop project plans and manage the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Ability to listen and document client requirements to be able to share with project team.
  • Ability to ask succinct, clarifying questions to demonstrate solid understanding of clients’ needs and requirements.
  • Solid communication and relationship building skills for interacting with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Solid planning and organization skills.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Visio, OneNote, and Outlook
  • Ability to document requirements using tools such as flow charts or graphic models.
  • Ability to work on simultaneous projects and manage timelines.
  • Ability to work alone and as a team member.
  • Ability to brainstorm, identify issues, and formulate cogent recommendations to clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, systems design or any other related information technology field. An equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education may be substituted upon approval.
  • Minimum of one year professional experience defining business requirements for media applications and/or one year web design or development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit requirements from stakeholders to determine desired business process impact through interviews, data collection, questionnaires, and other project management tools to ensure that a technology application is the solution.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, identify system constraints and other issues which do not meet desired application needs. Prioritize and distinguish user requests from underlying needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and managers to establish the technical vision.
  • Facilitate an evaluation and brainstorming meeting to effectively analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance with appropriate systems and developers/engineers to ensure technology application can meet the stakeholder’s needs.
  • Prepare and deliver business requirements documents and functional requirement documents for stakeholder approval and may be involved in documenting use cases and test scripts.
  • Schedule and participate in stakeholder decision meetings to determine if project is approved.
  • Facilitate team-working sessions to elicit accurate information, capture requirements, and document project accomplishments.
  • Ensure team projects are on schedule, meet departmental standards, and requestor’s expectations.
  • Develop project plan utilizing standard/best in class project management techniques, e.g., change control process.
