About The Position

Emerson is seeking a Project Analyst to join its Financial Services Group in Pune. The role supports project and site financial reporting, close processes, forecasting, budgeting, audits, and management analysis. It involves maintaining project financial information in Oracle and providing accurate, timely financial details and explanations to internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Finance professional with up to 3 years of work experience in the FP&A domain.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, MS Office, and reporting tools.
• Qualified Chartered Accountant or CMA, with up to 3 years of post-qualification experience in the finance domain.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and US GAAP.
• Knowledge of Oracle and Oracle SmartView.
• Good Excel and presentation-tool skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to balance stakeholders and adapt to situations, complexity, and ambiguity.
• Creative, self-driven, and self-motivated approach.
• High standards of accuracy and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly reporting and provide timely, accurate financial information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes in line with reporting deadlines.
• Prepare daily and monthly flash reports for orders and sales at the SYSS/site level.
• Determine appropriate project revenue-recognition methods and manage project revenue and cost recognition in Oracle.
• Manage project control accounts, including WIP, UBR, and UER, and reconcile the PA subledger with the General Ledger.
• Perform month-end checks, including EAC movements, loss accruals, and cost corrections.
• Process pre-close accruals, timesheet reclassifications, and timesheet analysis.
• Maintain projects in Oracle, including timely project closure, cost and revenue reconciliations, clearance of differences with internal approvals, cost-interface error resolution, and PA module closure.
• Review and validate foreign-currency exposures monthly.
• Generate project financial reports, including inception-to-date invoice reports, Project Status Inquiry reports using Noetix and Oracle, and other invoice and expenditure inquiry reports.
• Review the accuracy and completeness of project costs and revenues.
• Reconcile backlog and report foreign-exchange backlog correctly; perform WIP and UBR aging analysis.
• Perform monthly variance analysis, including gross-profit tracking for non-project orders.
• Participate in the monthly forecasting (POR) process and ensure correct backlog phasing.
• Support segment reporting for Product Group and KOB.
• Prepare post-month-end reports for site and business-unit management.
• Liaise with Business Unit Financial Analysts during month-end close and provide financial details and explanations for variances.
• Support annual budgets, mid-year reviews, operations reviews, WIP counts, inventory analysis, and the annual audit.
• Participate in monthly and quarterly project reviews.
