About The Position

Genentech's Hillsboro Technical Operations (HTO) is a Drug Product manufacturing facility in Hillsboro, Oregon, involved in Component Prep & Compounding, Liquid/Lyophilized Filling, Automated/Manual Inspection, Packaging/Finished Products, and Distribution. The facility is undergoing growth, with opportunities to support process optimization, new capabilities, and technologies. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliable supply of medicine to patients and reaching new populations. In this role, you will lead the planning and execution of internal projects from initiation to delivery. You will coordinate cross-functional activities, ensuring projects are completed within budget, scope, and schedule. You will act as an in-house project consultant, evaluating needs and vendor requests for proposals, and may develop internal tools or products. The position has a strong focus on the Fill/Finish space (component preparation, formulation, and aseptic operations), supporting projects for both existing assets/processes and new strategic capabilities. You will also support other areas as a Project Manager as needed. You will enable the delivery of key site portfolio projects and programs by ensuring accurate project scoping for resource, timeline, and budget identification. You will manage projects to maintain identified scope, timeline, and budget, ensuring the realization of project benefits. You will support portfolio balance by assessing project health, proactively identifying and making adjustments to ensure adherence to scope, cost, schedule, and benefit realization. You will adhere to and support the development of best practices in site project management and delivery for a variety of business projects (e.g., CAPEX, sustainability, refurbishment, innovation). You will collaborate effectively with site functional teams, Pharma Technical (PT) functions, Roche Pharma Technical Global MSAT (PTT) & Pharma Technical Strategy (PTY) functions, and Roche Corporate groups (Supply Chain, Development) to ensure alignment and successful project delivery. You will act in a lead capacity on cross-functional strategic activities, including leading assessments, meetings, and workshops, developing deliverables, providing guidance, and delivering support. You will utilize excellent team building and communication skills, with the ability to respond with agility and resilience in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or above, preferably in Engineering (Automation, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, Facilities, Mechanical, Process, or Industrial), related Science field, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of successful experience in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry, particularly related to project/portfolio management and execution, with relevant GMP experience.
  • Experience in scoping, planning, and leading cross-functional project teams’ execution of diverse projects, with a wide range of levels of complexity, technical and/or business related.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of internal projects from initiation through delivery.
  • Organize cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project while adhering to budget, scope and schedule requirements.
  • Serve as an in-house project consultant for evaluating needs and vendor requests for proposals.
  • May build tools/products for company internal use.
  • Focus on the Fill/Finish space (component preparation, formulation, and aseptic operations) for projects related to reliable supply and enhanced performance of existing assets and processes, as well as new capabilities and technologies.
  • Support other areas in a PM capacity as needed.
  • Enable delivery of key site portfolio projects and programs.
  • Ensure accurate project scoping to enable accurate identification of resources, timeline, and budget.
  • Manage projects to allow for the maintenance of identified scope, timeline, and budget, ensuring the realization of the project benefit to the site.
  • Support the balance of priorities and dependencies within the portfolio by continuously assessing the health of projects in scope as they progress, proactively identifying and making adjustments as needed to ensure the projects adherence to scope, cost, schedule and successful realization of benefit to the site.
  • Adhere to and support development of best practices and guidance related to site project management and delivery to ensure effective project planning and execution, across a wide variety of business projects (e.g. CAPEX, sustainability, refurbishment, innovation, etc.).
  • Collaborate effectively with site functional teams, along with applicable partners and stakeholders in Pharma Technical (PT) functions, Roche Pharma Technical Global MSAT (PTT) & Pharma Technical Strategy ( PTY) functions, and Roche Corporate groups (Supply Chain, Development), to ensure alignment and progression to successful delivery of projects in scope.
  • Act in a lead capacity on cross functional strategic activities including leading assessments, meetings & workshops, developing deliverables, providing guidance and direction to team members, and delivering support.
  • Use excellent team building and communication skills with the ability to listen and respond with agility and resilience in a fast paced industrial setting.
