About The Position

This role involves collaborating with Project Managers and office leadership to monitor project financial performance. Key responsibilities include reviewing project work plans, budgets, and staffing plans for fee alignment, and providing financial training to project teams as needed. The position also encompasses a range of accounting functions such as processing time and expense reports, client invoicing, collections, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and journal entries. Additionally, the Project Accountant will conduct monthly financial and operational metrics reporting and analysis, perform ad-hoc financial analysis to support executive decision-making, and assist with budget and variance analysis. The role supports the annual operations plan, prepares and files local business license applications, sales & use tax returns, and occupancy tax returns, and supports the reporting requirements of the firmwide corporate accounting group. Maintaining open communication with other offices on projects coordinated across multiple studios is also a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

  • Analytical skills

  • Able to pivot and have a “hands on” working style
  • 3-5 years AEC experience
  • Deltek Vantagepoint
  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Tech savvy accounting software proficiency

Nice To Haves

  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, related field, or equivalent experience is preferred

Responsibilities
