About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for a 24-bed Progressive Care Unit. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3–4. The role involves caring for patients with conditions including pneumonia, ARDS, Covid-19 infections, hypertensive urgency, angina, and alcohol withdrawal, as well as patients undergoing cardiac catheterization. The nurse will work with a team that includes a 24/7 charge nurse and house supervisor. Nurse aides are present at a ratio of 1:10. The position is on-site and offers night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with 12-hour shifts and a 36-hour weekly requirement. Weekend work is required every other weekend, and holiday work is required, including two winter holidays. Scheduling flexibility is preferred. The nurse may need to float to other facilities within the region. Standby may be required if additional staff is available. The unit provides free on-site parking, and there is no specific scrub dress code.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar setting.
Current ACLS certification.
Current BLS certification.
Current NIHSS certification.
Ability to float to other facilities within the region as needed.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care in a 24-bed Progressive Care Unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–4.
Titrate medications including Amiodarone, Diltiazem, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Dobutamine.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including a 24/7 charge nurse and house supervisor.
Use respiratory equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen.
Monitor patients through remote monitoring with RN approval.
Participate in unit orientation for new staff members.
Float to other facilities within the region as needed.
