About The Position

As an application developer in HEE/NIOSH (Objective 5 – Program Management and Support; Network Support), the Programmer Analyst 3 maintains, updates, and creates applications in support of the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Dose Reconstruction Project, and plans projects for the NIOSH Project. Most applications are ASP.NET web applications, with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on the front end and C# and SQL Server on the back end. The role also creates databases—including tables, views, and relationships—writes SQL queries, and develops SQL reports. The position works with NIOSH Project managers and users to gather and analyze requirements, make application decisions that meet user needs, and keep work aligned with project priorities and deadlines. It develops and maintains application documentation, user guides, and test plans; tests applications; provides end-user training; and mentors other developers on newly learned skills and technologies. The role also submits applications for cybersecurity scans, resolves security issues before production release, and works with cybersecurity teams to scan applications routinely for new vulnerabilities. The role is full-time and regular, and is remote from U.S.-based locations. The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI-level security clearance.
