About The Position

The State of Michigan is seeking a Programmer 6 / Java-React Developer to support MDOT's Project Development and Maintenance programs. The resource will work within an Agile development team to design, develop, test, and deploy applications while collaborating with project managers, application owners, resource managers, and UI/UX teams. The ideal candidate should have strong full-stack development experience, excellent communication and teamwork skills, self-direction, and the ability to quickly learn new technologies.

Requirements

7+ years programming complex systems using current Java and development tools such as Eclipse/JBoss Developer Studio.
4+ years programming with Java 8.
5+ years development using the Spring Framework.
5+ years development using JPA/Hibernate.
5+ years working in an Agile development environment.
4+ years programming with Oracle 12C or 19C.
4+ years developing responsive user interfaces using React.js.
4+ years programming in the JBoss Enterprise environment.
Candidate must be available onsite from Day 1.
Candidate must be available for in-person interviews.

Nice To Haves

Front-end development with a strong focus on WCAG 2.1 or higher accessibility standards.
4+ years with JUnit and Tiles.
4+ years with reporting tools such as JasperReports.

Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, test, and deploy Java-based applications.
Build modern, responsive user interfaces using React.js.
Collaborate with project managers, application owners, resource managers, and UI/UX teams.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, planning, development, testing, and deployment.
Develop and maintain applications within the Spring, JPA/Hibernate, Oracle, and JBoss environments.
Write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code.
Troubleshoot complex application issues and support ongoing maintenance.
