If so, then the Peninsula Health Department is searching for you to fill one of our Program Support Technician roles! We are currently seeking Program Support Technicians to be the first point of contact for the Environmental Health Division in our Newport News, Hampton and Williamsburg Offices. The program support technicians will provide professional and courteous service to our walk-in customers and responding to the public's inquiries over the phone. The program support technician will also provide administrative support to the Environmental Health team by accepting applications and processing payments for permits; accurately and efficiently entering Division data into the Environmental Health Database and other Microsoft Office programs, while accurately filing and maintaining environmental health records including permits and inspection records. Additional duties may include vital records and cashier functions. Independently performs technical office tasks in support of a single program area regularly requiring application of policy and procedures. Characteristic activities: Serves as contact and information resource for one or more programs; serves as lead worker to direct, advise and train others; designs and directs workflow processes; research and process claims; collects data and prepares reports on program activities. May provide performance input regarding staff to appropriate supervisor.
