About The Position

This is an internal job posting for the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) seeking a Program Supervisor to oversee the Corrections Records Unit. The unit operates 24/7, 365 days a year. The role involves supervising, directing, and coordinating the operations and activities of a support unit, planning and organizing operational functions, and developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all Federal, state, and local laws. The ideal candidate will be an analytical, insightful, and motivated professional with strong communication skills, able to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders including the public, senior officials, and adults in custody.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years of supervisory experience in a public safety environment, criminal justice environment, and/or a records management environment that includes personnel supervision, staff training, organizational development, data analysis and management of budget expenditures.
  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Credits and/or additional qualifying experience can substitute education on a year for year basis.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license by the first day of employment.
  • Must pass a criminal records and employment references check.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise operations and activities of the MCSO Corrections Records Unit.
  • Oversee development of work schedules, work plans, goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate staff and work products, impose disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Provide expert knowledge of corrections records management for internal and external meetings, committees, and work groups.
  • Analyze and review federal, state, and local laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with the preparation, managing and administration of a multi-million dollar budget.
