About The Position

Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking a Program Supervisor for an Intensive Treatment Residential (ITR) program in Chicopee, MA. This program offers long-term support for female adolescents (5-13 years old), providing housing, therapeutic, emotional, and educational support. The goal is to help youth develop healthy relationships and apply skills in real-world settings. The Program Supervisor assists the Program Manager (PM) in overseeing the assigned group home. The youth served are referred by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and present with complex mental health, medical, cognitive, and behavioral challenges. Many of their families also face issues such as substance abuse, domestic violence, mental health concerns, and economic stressors. The Program Supervisor aids in these processes and ensures the effective integration of CHD services. Working within the Agency's team model, the Program Supervisor fosters open communication, support, and accountability among program staff. They contribute to the overall program functioning to meet the needs of the youth and their families. They will supervise staff, ensuring adherence to program policies and procedures, and provide staff with information, training, and guidance for their growth and development. In the absence of the PM, the Program Supervisor will assume the PM's roles and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution preferred (Can be substituted w/experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of residential and/or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience working with youth and their families.
  • Experience in community child welfare and mental health programming.
  • Driver’s license required.
  • Have a legally registered & insured car for work use.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Program Manager (PM) with the oversight of their assigned group home.
  • Ensures that the maximum integration of CHD services are being carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Works within the Agency's team model, establishing open communication, support and accountability among program staff.
  • Assists in the overall functioning of the program to meet the needs of the youth and their families.
  • Provides supervision to the staff ensuring that the policies and procedures of the program are being followed.
  • Ensures that the staff receive information, training, and guidance that promotes their growth and development.
  • Assumes the roles and responsibilities of the PM in their absence.
