South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD) is a large and technologically sophisticated environmental regulatory agency serving a four-county region. This position is in the Technology Demonstration unit of the Technology Advancement Office (TAO), reporting to Planning and Rules Manager Vasileios Papapostolou. The role involves research, development, demonstration, and deployment (RDD&D) of low- and/or zero-emission on- and off-road technologies and associated infrastructure through programs like the Clean Fuels Fund. It requires close collaboration with various state and federal agencies, academia, and private entities. The Program Supervisor will act as a subject-matter expert, represent the agency, and manage complex RDD&D projects, with a primary focus on grant management from agencies like the DOE, CEC, and CARB. Additionally, the role involves compiling and analyzing technical air quality data, applying regulations, monitoring consultants, overseeing projects, maintaining records, preparing reports, designing grant proposals, and staying current with regulations and technical developments.
