About The Position

The Department of Family Medicine of the Keck School of Medicine of USC provides care for every member of the family, across generations and over lifetimes. We aim to enhance the quality of life for underserved and vulnerable patients while educating future generations of highly skilled, compassionate primary care specialists. Our goal is to combine education, patient advocacy, and evidence-based research to advance family medicine and geriatrics. USC Street Medicine Workforce Development and Education’s vision is to support the development of a robust and sustainable street medicine workforce in California and beyond. The Program Specialist position will support initiatives such as California Street Medicine Collaborative (CSMC) and its affiliated initiatives, including the Clinician Learning Collaborative (CLC) and Educational Action Groups (EAGs), and other grant-related communication initiatives. This role is central to the day-to-day operations of the Collaborative, ensuring that communications, stakeholder engagement, events, and program logistics are coordinated and executed effectively. The Program Specialist will work closely with the Director of Workforce Development and Education Arm and the Director of Policy and Advocacy Arm to support program implementation, manage multiple workstreams, and contribute to advancing the Collaborative’s mission. This role requires a highly organized, proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic, mission-driven environment and can balance administrative coordination with creative and strategic support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Experience with stakeholder engagement, communications, event coordination, and basic research support is highly desirable. Proficiency with office software and digital communication platforms is required.

Requirements

  • Directly related professional experience in program specialization, e.g., counseling or teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement and serve as a primary point of contact for speakers, partners, and participants across Collaborative programs and events
  • Schedule and support Advisory Committee meetings, EAG sessions, and other convenings, including agenda preparation and logistics coordination
  • Support volunteer engagement processes, including intake, assessment, and coordination of integration into program activities
  • Assist with outreach and campaign efforts, including partner communications and maintaining stakeholder contact lists
  • Draft, design, and distribute newsletters and other program communications
  • Manage routine correspondence, including acknowledgements and follow-up communications with partners and stakeholders
  • Prepare meeting materials, document discussions, and maintain organized program records and documentation
  • Maintain and update the Collaborative website and support development of new content and resource pages
  • Support and grow social media presence, including content creation, editing, and organization of digital assets
  • Assist in the planning and execution of webinars and in-person events, including registration setup, promotion, and on-site coordination
  • Provide event support such as note-taking, breakout session coordination, and post-event follow-up
  • Develop presentations and visual materials aligned with program needs and branding
  • Support report development, formatting, and design to ensure polished and professional outputs
  • Conduct structured research and information-gathering activities to support program initiatives and organizational knowledge
  • Assist with publication preparation, including formatting references and providing light editorial support
  • Support grant reporting and administrative processes, including coordination with financial systems
  • Attend meetings and provide summaries to support program planning and decision-making
  • Stay current with developments and literature in the field of street medicine and related areas, and provide concise summaries as needed

Benefits

  • The hourly rate range for this position is $32.43 - $33.33.
