About The Position

The Summer Service & Leadership Youth Development Professional plans, implements, and supervises programs that promote leadership skills, positive behavior, anti-bullying practices, cultural awareness, and community engagement. This role helps youth build confidence, empathy, and responsibility while supporting our priority outcome areas of Good Character & Citizenship, Healthy Lifestyles, and Academic Success. Youth Development Professionals will work within a Boys & Girls Club serving up to 100 youth (ages 6–18) daily and will lead groups of 5–20 members at a time through engaging discussions, activities, and service-learning projects.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED & currently working to complete a two or four-year degree
  • Experience working with children
  • Passion for leadership development, service, and mentoring youth
  • Ability to lead discussions and activities around character and teamwork
  • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
  • Knowledge of youth development
  • Valid State Driver’s License
  • Candidates must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check & Drug Test

  • Planning and organizing various programs and activities to meet the diverse needs and interests of club members.
  • Providing emotional support and guidance to youth facing personal challenges and crises.
  • Assisting club members with homework, tutoring, and educational enrichment activities to support their academic success.
