About The Position

The University of New Mexico College of Nursing (CON) is seeking a Program Specialist to provide specialized programmatic and administrative support to the Office of Clinical Placements. In collaboration with the Director of Clinical Placements, the Program Specialist will help ensure that the College effectively meets the evolving clinical education needs of its students and demands of the college. The Program Specialist will supervise a dedicated team supporting undergraduate clinical placement operations. This includes coordinating clinical placements statewide to provide experiential clinical opportunities for learners across multiple pathways to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead systems, projects, and relationships that support clinical placement operations, including student compliance, placement assignments, and clinical education data.
  • Collaborate with faculty, students, and clinical sites in accordance to clinical placements requirements
  • Monitor operational workflows, and develop and implement process improvements to strengthen the accuracy of clinical education operations.
  • Direct oversight of student compliance with clinical placement requirements
  • Ensure timely execution of placement procedures, coordinate with students, faculty, and clinical partners
  • Maintain confidential and organized student, faculty, and clinical placement records in accordance with University policies and applicable privacy requirements
  • Participate in and lead special projects and initiatives of the Office of Clinical Placements and College of Nursing as assigned
