About The Position
The Tuckahoe Family YMCA is seeking an energetic and positive role model for their STAR (Strengthening Teens Academically and Recreationally) outreach after-school program at Quioccasin Middle School. This part-time position requires availability on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, spanning from October through April. The role involves assisting with STEM projects, recreational activities, and enrichment sessions for middle school students, focusing on building strong relationships, maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment, and supervising youth. Responsibilities also include setup, cleanup, materials organization, attendance tracking, and general program flow.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least six months of programmatic experience.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with multilingual learners.
- Experience working with middle school youth.
- Dual language skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with facilitating STEM projects, recreational activities, and enrichment sessions designed for students.
- Build strong relationships with students.
