About The Position
The Tuckahoe Family YMCA is seeking an energetic and positive role model for their STAR (Strengthening Teens Academically and Recreationally) outreach after school program at Quioccasin Middle School. This part-time position is 12 hours per week, running from October through April, with specific availability needed on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM. The program focuses on facilitating STEM projects, recreational activities, and enrichment sessions for middle school students, emphasizing relationship building, safety, and supervision.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least six months of programmatic experience.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with multilingual learners.
- Experience working with middle school youth.
- Dual language skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with facilitating STEM projects, recreational activities, and enrichment sessions.
- Build strong relationships with students.
- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Supervise youth during program hours.
- Help with setup, cleanup, materials organization, attendance tracking, and general program flow.
