Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in managing the academic calendar for the department including scheduling classes, exams, meetings and other events related to the Department of Social Work.
  • Collaborates with Program Directors and faculty to plan and develop specialized programs such as open houses, orientation, conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings, workshops, and tours.
  • Plans, implements, coordinates, analyzes, monitors, and evaluates administrative support functions.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of budget, purchasing, special reports, and other documents.
  • Provides administrative support to the Department Head and faculty.
  • Assists with admissions and matriculation processes.
  • Maintains program supplies and equipment.
  • Works closely with the Department Head and Program Directors for student recruitment, outreach, and open houses.
  • Maintains program brochures with current information.
  • Coordinates specialized communications and marketing.
  • Attends departmental and program meetings and records, distributes and maintains minutes.
  • Facilitates incoming inquiries from students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders providing timely and accurate responses or directing inquiries to the appropriate person.
  • Maintains and updates student records.
  • Assists in the development and documentation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Analyzes data and assists in the preparation and maintenance of special reports and other required documentation to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
