About The Position
The YMCA of Delaware is seeking a Program Specialist with a focus on Dance for the Walnut YMCA Family Location. This role involves developing and implementing dance programs for various ages and skill levels, creating curricula, and staying updated with dance trends.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
- Previous experience as a dance instructor or performer (2-3 years preferred).
- Experience teaching various styles of dance (e.g., ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary).
- Strong understanding of dance techniques, choreography, and performance practices.
- Familiarity with dance theory, safety protocols, and injury prevention.

- Additional qualifications specific to each program (such as certifications or degrees in dance, sports, or education)
Responsibilities
- Develop, and implement dance programs that cater to a wide range of ages and skill levels.
- Create dance curricula and lesson plans, incorporating different dance styles such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, modern, and contemporary.
- Continuously update and adapt the program to include new trends, techniques, and best practices in dance education.
