Under limited direction, the Program Specialist exercises interpersonal skills to initiate partnerships that lead to the development, implementation, administration and the evaluation of system-wide programs and events which motivate reading, promote community literacy, and increase the use of Library materials, information resources and services. This role increases the presence of library service for adults, teens and children throughout the community including schools, businesses, government, daycares and other childcare institutions, as well as coordinates the development, production and delivery of new, innovative immigrant outreach services and programs. The Program Specialist serves as a liaison between Library departments, The Library Foundation, and other community organizations and businesses that are partners or sponsors of system-wide programs. The specific duties and assignments will vary based on annual programming goals and opportunities.
