About The Position

This position is responsible for leading program enhancement and providing case management support focused on improving outcomes for adolescents and young adults served by the Child Welfare Case Management program. Utilizing a strength-based and youth engagement approach, works in concert with employees and leaders to engage youth in the assessment of their independent living skills, develop their independent living case plans and facilitate service coordination. Supports child welfare case managers in youth engagement and provides advocacy for both adolescents served by the Child Welfare Case Management program and young adults seeking to re-enter care. In collaboration with key stakeholders, community partners and youth, identifies and leads quality improvement initiatives and program enhancements. Monitors and ensures compliance with contract requirements related to adolescent clients and independent living skill development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice or related degree required.
  • Three plus years experience working with adolescents required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of normal, reciprocal attachments of the youth with their biological parents and other significant caregivers.
  • Knowledge of community resources and services available to program participants.
  • License Driver's License - State of Wisconsin required.
  • Must use personal vehicle to transport children.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience working with families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds strongly preferred.
  • Passion for youth development and demonstrated ability to engage adolescents.
  • Must complete in-house car seat transporter training within one month of hire and re-train biannually thereafter to maintain.
