Under the limited supervision of a Program Specialist 3 or 4, or other supervisory official in a state department, institution or agency, or in a local jurisdiction, takes the lead over professional and/or technical staff engaged in program activities; performs professional, administrative and analytical work to promote the planning, operation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of various programs and services administered by the Department of assignment; conducts the research and field work necessary to meet the needs of the appropriate state and/or local public or private agencies; does other related work. Specific to Position The New Jersey Historic Preservation Office (NJHPO) is seeking an Architectural Survey Coordinator for a time-limited architectural reconnaissance project in flood-prone communities in New Jersey. The survey is intended to identify potential historic resources and areas with low potential for historic resources in communities with high concentrations of repetitive loss due to flooding. The Survey Coordinator will be responsible for planning survey fieldwork, coordinating data collection and processing, coordinating review of survey results by participating agencies, and preparing regular status reports. The position is funded for a period of three years through a cooperative agreement with the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management.
