We are actively looking for an on-site Program Quality Engineer (PQE) in Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS), supporting the Next Generation Short Range Interceptor (NGSRI) program at our Tucson, AZ location. This is an on-site position in Tucson, Arizona. As the primary quality interface for the product Integrated Product Team (IPT), you'll ensure the program meets all Quality & Mission Assurance requirements. This includes coordinating with functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and overseeing the scope of work through all integrated product development phases within the contract. You'll develop and monitor quality metrics to drive proactive continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with integrated teams to enforce process rigor. In the program quality role, you will support contract start-up activities, Engineering development, product integration and sell-off. You will primarily engage our factories and suppliers working in the NGSRI program, implementing quality processes to reduce overall product lifecycle cost and risk.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelors Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience.
  • Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Working experience leading teams in failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action.
  • Working experience in providing technical program support for manufacturing and/or design processes.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience working with customers, suppliers, and in a team environment.
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g. 6-sigma, lean manufacturing).
  • Experienced user of Process Re-invention Integrating Systems for Manufacturing (PRISM) or SAP.
  • Experience in an engineering development program or rapid prototype environment
  • Experienced in First Article Inspections per AS9102.

Responsibilities

  • Engage on both strategic and tactical levels, focusing on quality, cost and schedule performance, early engagement, influencing and providing differentiating quality value to program teams and customers.
  • Be the Quality POC for the NGSRI missile system, interfacing across programs, key suppliers and customers supporting technical quality and financial performance, and compliance to Raytheon procedures and contractual requirements.
  • Develop partnerships with senior leaders, IPTs, customers, and quality functions of the program team to define steps necessary to implement proactive quality strategies that shape Raytheon’s ability to become the provider of choice.
  • Generation of new CORE (Customer Oriented Result and Excellence), CoPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) projects to reduce costs/increase efficiency of the NGSRI program.
  • Monitor / lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) and FRACAS activities for systemic issues and to ensure extensive RCCA.
  • Support issue resolutions and solutions to production.
  • Support implementation of Advanced Product Quality Planning in accordance with AS9145, as applicable.
