About The Position

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a Lead Program Quality Engineer to join their team. This role involves leading other Program Quality Engineers, maintaining and enforcing processes in test and production environments, and developing solutions to complex technical issues. The position requires communication with internal teams and clients, reviewing timecards, inspecting components, approving assembly instructions and procurement requisitions, and reading technical documentation. Responsibilities also include writing and reviewing non-conformances and RCCA activities, interfacing with government and PM customers, completing CDRL data requirements, and verifying Certificates of Conformance. The role may involve other duties assigned by the Quality Program Manager.

Requirements

  • BS degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Must be able to solve complex problems, relate with other team members, and communicate with other levels of management.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding when reading and interpreting drawings.
  • Must have experience with electrical test environment and test equipment in the IFFP Program.
  • Must have knowledge of how to efficiently use micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, radius gages, and calipers etc.
  • Experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 manufacturing environment.
  • Candidate must be able to populate handwritten or computer-generated inspection reports.
  • Candidates must have Computer Skills and can use computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.
  • Must be willing to travel to customer sites to perform quality inspections.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area at their own expense.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or be able to obtain Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Government contract and SOW interpretation.
  • Knowledge of FAR and DFAR regulations.
  • Previous auditing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead other Program Quality Engineers with duties performed.
  • Responsible for maintaining enforcing processes in the test and production environment.
  • Develops solutions to complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple areas or disciplines.
  • Communicate with internal team members across multiple areas and client team members.
  • May communicate with parties external to the organization.
  • Review and sign timecards for accuracy.
  • Inspect components and assembled parts IAW drawings.
  • Review and approve assembly instructions.
  • Approve Procurement requisitions.
  • Read and understand Drawings and Technical data packages.
  • Write Non-conformances and complete RCCA activities. To includes review of those completed by other Quality Engineers.
  • Interfaces with Government and PM customer to ensure product compliance on delivery.
  • Complete CDRL data requirements.
  • Completion and verification of Certificates of Conformance IAW with contractual requirements.
  • Other Duties as assigned by the Quality Program Manager.
