About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Project Solutions Leader, performs responsible, client-focused duties in connection with the management and administration of the designated Controlled Insurance Program (“CIP”), including interaction with program Sponsor, project personnel, contractors, subcontractors, and insurers. The Program Professional is a highly visible position as the daily point of contact between Aon, the program Sponsor and various program stakeholders. The candidate will also work closely with all members of the Aon Risk Solutions team, including Program Managers, Account Executives, Brokers, and other Program Professionals and Administrators. The position requires an inquisitive, detail oriented individual with good analytical skills. Written and verbal communication skills are also important as candidate will be speaking and writing directly to a variety of program Sponsor and project personnel. This is a hybrid role with three days a week in the Los Angeles, CA or San Francisco.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years, with 5 years preferable, of progressively more responsible experience in the insurance field, preferably with experience in the area of construction insurance.
  • Effective organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction practices, construction project administration and construction insurance.
  • Ability to effectively supervise subordinate staff.
  • Ability to handle multiple, non‑congruent tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, or similar scheduling programs.
  • Possession of an insurance broker, agent or producer license in the project's state of operation or be able to obtain one within the first 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Training in Project Management is highly desirable.
  • College‑level coursework, or its equivalent, in insurance or risk management is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in or conducts presentations to program Sponsor, working in concert with the Program Manager and other appropriate Aon personnel.
  • Oversees the initiation of CIP administration processes and procedures, assuring that program Sponsor and insurer interests are addressed and that Aon staff involved in the project is adequately prepared to undertake the program.
  • Assures that all CIP documentation is on file, including but not limited to: Presentation material, i.e. Powerpoint, handouts; Project Pro Forma; Marketing documents, i.e. submission, quotes, presentation; Copies of insurance carrier binder(s) and policies; Service Agreement; Project contract language; Project Insurance Manual; Project Safety Standards; Project reports, e.g. Monthly/Quarterly/Claims; Stewardship Report; and Fee and premium invoices.
  • Oversees and is responsible the financial performance of the CIP program.
  • Acts as the Aon point‑of‑contact for the CIP.
  • Conducts meetings with program Sponsor and insurer representatives on a periodic basis or as required to discuss project status and resolve program issues.
  • Oversees project Implementation Plans, including selection, coordination and issuance of the suite of AonWrap reports to be provided monthly to the program Sponsor.
  • At a minimum, participates in and conducts quarterly stewardship meetings with program Sponsors to evaluate program progress and issues.
  • Reviews periodic program claims reports and arranges for and participates in periodic claims review meetings with Sponsors and insurer representatives.
  • Assures that all policies are checked for accuracy prior to transmittal to sponsor and enrolled parties.
  • Performs all duties in full compliance with established corporate policies and Project Solutions National Standards.
