About The Position

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Program Planning and Scheduling Analyst – Level 2 or 3, to join their team in Dulles VA. This position is part of the Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP), an approved SkillBridge Program. The NG-MIP offers transitioning service members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. Participants continue to receive their military compensation and benefits. The program aims to provide fellowship-style job skills training, with the potential for full-time employment after the internship. Interns will serve as a pipeline for motivated military candidates into Northrop Grumman. Upon completion, service members will be highly trained and capable future employees, prepared to meet the NG mission. The internship includes professional development, networking with leadership, and training focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product/service overview, and core job responsibilities. This role is within the Space Sector, an industry-leading provider of satellite and payload capabilities, and directed energy and electronics solutions.

Requirements

  • Level 2: Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of professional experience in program/project planning and scheduling – OR – Master’s degree with 1+ years of professional experience in program/project planning and scheduling.
  • Level 3: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of professional experience in program/project planning and scheduling – OR – Master’s degree with 3+ years of professional experience in program/project planning and scheduling.
  • An additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Strong PC skills and proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with scheduling software (i.e., MS Project 2016, Open Plan, PS3, Primavera P6, Milestone Professional, Deltek and SSI Tools).
  • Requires an active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in MS Project 2016.
  • Experience with resource loading schedules.
  • Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) experience.
  • Experience with Schedule Risk Assessment (SRA).

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed schedule, resource, work, and cost analysis for multiple programs and contracts.
  • Make recommendations to solve problems, create presentation content and present to various levels of leadership.
  • Interface with multiple functional teams, supplier teams, as well as the Program/Project Manager.
  • Prepare, develop, and coordinate the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to meet all program objectives and ensure program schedules are horizontally and vertically integrated.
  • Implement scheduling best practices as prescribed by industry to include, but not limited to: DCMA 14-point, IPMR DI-MGMT-81861, Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Critical Path Analysis, Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA), Schedule Performance and Health Metrics and Analysis.
  • Provide weekly status and reporting.
  • Conduct Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBR) and Joint Surveillance Reviews (JSR) audits.
