About The Position

Symetria Recovery is a leading outpatient rehabilitation center in Illinois and Texas, founded on the principles that addiction is a disease, co-occurring mental health conditions require attention, and patients deserve respectful, non-judgmental care. We offer comprehensive substance abuse treatment, emphasizing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in a supportive outpatient environment. Our bundled-service model provides unlimited clinical services, including those under our Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) licensure. Key services include MAT, medically monitored psychiatric care, individual and group therapy (IOP), six-day-per-week nursing care, and ongoing aftercare. We primarily utilize Buprenorphine products for medication, but also offer Methadone and other FDA-approved addiction medications.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas
  • DEA and controlled substance license required

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the medical operations of the program, including clinical and clinical business segments.
  • Creates policies consistent with best practices and ensures their adherence through quality assurance activities.
  • Oversees all aspects of medical program design, including patient intake criteria, ongoing patient evaluation components, dosing practices, Buprenorphine/methadone and benzodiazepine policies, drug screen frequency and actions, electronic health record usage, treatment interventions, high-risk patient management, pregnancy management in methadone treatment, and availability of adjunct patient outcomes.
  • Assumes responsibility for all medical services and related vendors.
  • Oversees administrative discharge criteria and procedures.
  • Coordinates care among the program and referral sources.
  • Supervises nurses, including competencies, clinical decision-making, scope of practice verification, compliance with state statutes, and assists with performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
  • Performs the responsibilities of a Program Physician under the direction of the Medical Director and Program Sponsor, overseeing OTP care of patients.
  • Ensures and verifies that each patient admitted for MAT has a documented history of opioid use disorder/dependence of sufficient severity and duration for admission to an OTP.
