About The Position

The Program Manager will work closely with the FHSP Associate Directors and Director, and other FHSP Managers to scale the FHSP and meet the ambitious goal of housing thousands of homeless Angelenos. To be successful, the Program Manager will collaborate with L.A. County Department of Homeless Services and Housing, Department of Mental Health (DMH) and Office of Diversion and Reentry (ODR), other government partners, Intensive Case Management Services organizations (ICMS), and other funders, such as Managed Care Organizations and private foundations. Brilliant Corners has program participants living in scattered-site settings, project-based settings, and residential facility settings that can have either FHSP locally funded subsidies or a federal voucher to subsidize their rent. Program Supervisors may support programs with participants in any of the settings or subsidy types listed above. The Program Manager will collaborate on the development of FHSP policies and procedures to provide consistent levels of care to FHSP clients and inspire a culture of excellence throughout the team. The Program Manager is charged with managing and providing professional development opportunities to the Program Supervisors who, in turn, are responsible for each managing between 5 - 8 Housing Coordinators. In addition, the Program Manager will work with the Program Supervisors to fulfill the “emergency phone” requirements. The Program Manager will work under the direction of an FHSP Associate Director.

Requirements

  • 2+ years working in supportive housing or in a related field focused on social justice or human services.
  • Experience building and managing a team.
  • Experience working and building rapport with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated management and team-building experience.
  • Ability to clearly articulate program goals and develop tools and metrics for staff to achieve those goals; strong project management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and planning skills.
  • Can manage multiple deadlines efficiently and simultaneously.
  • Solid team leader who can work collaboratively on projects and under pressure.
  • Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally responsive services and work effectively in cross-cultural situations.
  • A valid, clean CA driver’s license and a personal insured vehicle are required.
  • Candidates should have physical mobility for tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Capable of performing stationary tasks like sitting for up to 6 to 8 hours a day.
  • Able to lift, carry, push, pull light to moderate weights up to 15 pounds safely.
  • Requires mental acuity for analytical reasoning and document interpretation.
