About The Position

The Program Manager will plan, design, and deliver programs relevant to K-12th grade youth participants, empowering them to make life-enhancing decisions, develop self-esteem, and become active community members. This role ensures programs meet quality, consistency, and safety guidelines, emphasizing contemporary issues, skill progression, and leadership development. The Program Manager will organize and facilitate engaging, challenging, and fun youth skill-building programs and committees, staying informed about trends affecting youth and Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) program requirements. This position will advise and support volunteers in implementing the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and National Program Portfolio to drive membership growth and retention, meeting recruitment and retention goals. The role involves participating in council teams and committees, fostering partnerships with community organizations, and managing program budgets. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in youth development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent facilitation, conflict resolution, and presentation skills
  • Experience in program curriculum development in various program pillars
  • Experience in program facilitation and classroom management
  • Experience with virtual and in-person presentation and facilitation
  • Ability to engage K-12th grade girls and youth in learning activities and reflection
  • Knowledge of youth development and/or girl-specific programming
  • Good computer skills including proficiency in the most current versions of Windows and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Ability to use the Internet and learn/use specialized or proprietary software
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to cultivate, motivate and maintain effective working relationships with staff and volunteers from diverse backgrounds and all organizational levels
  • Successful track record in a role that demands managing multiple projects and multi-tasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle required

Responsibilities
