Program Manager

YWCA of Binghamton
$60,000Hybrid

About The Position

Make stability possible. Lead with purpose. At the YWCA of Binghamton and Broome County, we believe safe housing is the foundation for everything else—healing, growth, and independence. We’re looking for a few Program Managers who are ready to lead with both heart and structure: someone who can guide a team, support individuals in crisis, and ensure our programs run with excellence and integrity. This is not a behind-the-scenes role. You’ll be in it—supporting participants, coaching staff, and shaping the quality of services that help people rebuild their lives.

Requirements

  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, or substance use
  • A strong understanding of trauma-informed care, Housing First, and harm reduction
  • Ability to manage complexity, respond to crises, and make sound decisions
  • Strong communication skills and relationship-building ability
  • Comfort with documentation systems and data tracking
  • Valid NYS driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supervising or leading staff (strongly preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of supportive housing programs serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, and complex life challenges.
  • Supervise and develop a team of Case Managers and other staff as appropriate for the specific program you will be managing
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and accountability to ensure strong performance
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and program coverage
  • Partner with leadership to strengthen program outcomes and quality
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop individualized service plans
  • Provide supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and resource navigation
  • Work directly with a small caseload (10–15 households)
  • Oversee documentation and reporting to meet agency and funder standards
  • Monitor service delivery for consistency, quality, and impact
  • Contribute to program evaluation, performance tracking, and continuous improvement
  • Facilitate workshops, life-skills groups, and engagement activities
  • Represent the agency in community partnerships and coalitions
  • Strengthen relationships with referral sources and service providers

Benefits

  • Medical and dental insurance (employer pays a portion)
  • Generous PTO policy, including an Extended Illness program for added security
  • Pension program eligibility after 2 years of employment (no employee contribution required)
  • Professional development and mentoring programs to support your growth and career path
