About The Position

Muslim Aid USA (MAUSA) is a faith-based American international charity that provides vital support to communities affected by natural disasters, conflict, and chronic poverty. MAUSA also addresses hunger, disease, illiteracy, discrimination, debt, and lack of skills or opportunity. Rooted in the Islamic values of compassion, justice, and human dignity, MAUSA serves all people regardless of faith. The Program Manager serves as a senior leader responsible for the strategic vision, execution, and impact of Muslim Aid USA’s humanitarian and development portfolio. As a key member of the leadership team, the Director drives program excellence by designing, managing, and scaling high-impact interventions across domestic and international contexts. This role acts as the primary steward of program quality, partnerships, and innovation, ensuring that all initiatives align with organizational priorities, donor expectations, and the organization’s faith-driven mission to alleviate poverty and respond to humanitarian need. The Program Manager models compassion, integrity, accountability, and service; upholds Islamic philanthropic principles and ethical stewardship; and fosters a collaborative, inclusive work environment grounded in humility and shared purpose.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in program management within the nonprofit or humanitarian sector.
  • At least 8 years in a senior leadership or supervisory role, managing teams and complex programs.
  • Demonstrated success designing and delivering large-scale humanitarian and development programs across diverse contexts.
  • Strong expertise in MEAL frameworks, data-driven decision-making, and impact reporting.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, oversee multiple projects, and align strategy with execution.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to Muslim Aid USA’s mission and values, with a passion for humanitarian service.
  • Willingness to work outside standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Availability to respond to urgent humanitarian situations and organizational priorities.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (10–15%).

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the organization’s programmatic vision, strategy, and priorities in alignment with the organization's overall goals.
  • Develop annual and multi-year program plans, budgets, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Identify emerging humanitarian and development needs and design innovative, scalable responses.
  • Integrate faith-based values with evidence-based approaches to maximize impact and sustainability.
  • Contribute to organizational strategy and decision-making as a senior leadership team member.
  • Stay informed on global humanitarian trends, philanthropy, and best practices in poverty alleviation.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration, including fundraising, communications, and operations.
  • Respond to emergencies and rapidly mobilize programmatic responses as needed.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing programs team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Provide technical guidance and ongoing support to program managers and field teams.
  • Identify capacity gaps and implement targeted training, coaching, and professional development initiatives.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of programs, from design through implementation, monitoring, and closeout.
  • Ensure programs are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and compliance standards.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs), proactively mitigating risks and addressing operational challenges.
  • Strengthen systems, processes, and tools to improve program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Build and sustain strategic partnerships with NGOs, government entities, donors, community organizations, and international stakeholders.
  • Represent Muslim Aid USA in external forums to strengthen visibility, credibility, and opportunities for collaboration.
  • Leverage partnerships to expand program reach, mobilize resources, and enhance long-term sustainability.
  • Establish and oversee robust MEAL frameworks across all programs.
  • Ensure consistent data collection, analysis, and reporting to measure outcomes and impact.
  • Utilize insights and learning to inform strategy, improve program design, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality reporting to donors, leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain full compliance with donor regulations, legal requirements, and internal policies.
  • Oversee audits, due diligence, and risk mitigation processes across all program activities.
  • Lead program budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets and maximize cost-efficiency.
  • Collaborate with finance and development teams to align funding strategies with program priorities.
