About The Position

This position provides leadership for social services locally. It is responsible for planning, developing, administering, and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of the day-to-day operations and assigned staff providing case management services for the social service programs. The role ensures that programming is administered within established policies and procedures, including government and grant guidelines and Salvation Army policies. It involves building new relationships with community agencies and maintaining effective working relationships for client referrals. The position also trains and mentors newly assigned Case Management staff and supervises/participates in the daily activities for the smooth operation of a housing facility, including supervising Housing Monitors. Responsibilities include accepting and processing residents, monitoring their activities for safety, security, and compliance with house rules, and maintaining accurate records. The role also involves interviewing applicants to determine eligibility, conducting needs assessments, referring applicants to other agencies if not appropriate, and managing a limited caseload of clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a related field
  • Five years’ experience performing responsible social services case management work
  • At least 2 years in supervisory role
  • Valid State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, administers, and evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of the day-to-day operations and assigned staff providing case management services for the social service programs.
  • Ensures programing is administered within established policies and procedures including any government and grant guidelines and Salvation Army policies and guidelines.
  • Builds new relationships with community agencies in the assigned service area and maintains effective working relationships with these community agencies for client referrals.
  • Trains and mentors newly assigned Case Management in the appropriate processes and procedures.
  • Supervises and participates in performing day-to-day activities for the smooth operation of a housing facility.
  • Supervises Housing monitors.
  • Accepts and processes residents staying in lodge/shelter overnight; monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance with house rules; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures that lodge/shelter is maintained in a neat and proper order.
  • Interviews applicants to determine eligibility for program enrollment based on established facility guidelines and requirements; conduct needs assessment, obtain pertinent information; refers applicants to other agencies if not appropriate for program.
  • Manages a limited caseload of clients providing case management services and other opportunities for development.
  • Supervises Housing Monitors, ensures shifts are covered in event of a Housing Monitor’s absence.
  • Responds to emergencies in a calm manner and initiates appropriate corrective actions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
