About The Position
Join a high-visibility enterprise data modernization initiative as a Senior Program Manager, leading the final and most critical stages of a Hadoop-to-Databricks migration. As the organization enters the decommissioning phase, your expertise will ensure a seamless transition, minimize disruption, and drive continued modernization. This role offers direct executive exposure and the potential to expand into additional technology transformation programs.
Requirements
- 10+ years of program management experience leading large-scale technology initiatives
- Proven track record building detailed project plans and delivering successful outcomes
- Strong cross-functional coordination and dependency management abilities
- Exceptional stakeholder management, including executive-level communication
- Expertise managing complex, multi-team programs with competing priorities
- Advanced organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with project tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira)
- Ability to identify roadblocks, ask critical questions, and connect teams to drive objectives
Nice To Haves
- Experience in legacy data platform migrations
- Familiarity with Hadoop and Databricks environments
- Background in legacy data modernization and decommissioning
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps (ADO)
- Prior leadership of infrastructure, cloud, or enterprise tech transformation programs
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all activities related to Hadoop decommissioning post-Databricks migration
- Build and manage comprehensive project schedules, execution plans, and risk mitigation strategies
- Drive integration transition activities, ensuring downstream systems are safely migrated
- Lead cross-functional teams, establishing accountability and improving delivery timelines
- Facilitate clear communication with senior leadership and executive stakeholders
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with outages or disruptions
- Manage resource allocation and capacity planning across multiple technical teams
- Implement project governance, structure, and process improvements where needed
- Take a hands-on approach to daily execution and outcome delivery
