About The Position

Cimarron is seeking an experienced Program Manager to support a high-profile aircraft program in San Antonio, TX. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing contract execution and leading a team of electrical technicians supporting aircraft-related work. The selected candidate will serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for the customer and ensure all work is performed in accordance with contract requirements, quality standards, and schedule commitments. This position requires a strong leader to build/motivate a high performing team, rapidly eliminate barriers to success, and develop client relationships to ensure satisfaction on this contract and posture us for future growth opportunities. This is a remote position with travel to the work site as needed, starting at 30–40 hours per week for the first 1–2 months during initial standup, then transitioning to approximately 20 hours per week on an ongoing part-time basis.

Requirements

  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
  • This is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to DOT random drug and alcohol testing.
  • 8 or more years of experience in program or project management, preferably in a government or defense contracting environment.
  • Experience managing technical teams, ideally electrical or avionics personnel.
  • Proven ability to act as a customer-facing lead/POC.
  • Strong understanding of contract execution and performance management.
  • Ability to work onsite in San Antonio, TX on a regular basis.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting aircraft modification, maintenance, or aerospace programs.
  • Familiarity with DoD programs or high-visibility government contracts.
  • Prior experience leading teams in a regulated or secure environment.
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • PMP certification or equivalent.
  • Master's degree in Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary customer POC for all program-related activities.
  • Oversee day-to-day contract execution, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and performance requirements.
  • Lead and manage a team of electrical technicians, including tasking, scheduling, and performance oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor program performance and proactively address risks, issues, and resource needs.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (operations, HR, contracts, and leadership) to support program success.
  • Provide regular status updates and reporting to both customer and internal leadership.
  • Support staffing, onboarding, and workforce planning as needed.
