About The Position
The Center for Youth is dedicated to helping young people realize their full potential by creating opportunities, removing barriers, and promoting social justice. The organization values diversity and inclusivity. The Counseling and Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) Department offers essential services to vulnerable youth, including crisis nurseries, shelters, housing programs, a food and clothing pantry, street outreach, and support for victims of commercial sexual exploitation. The Transitional Living Program Manager will oversee the administrative and program development aspects of two transitional living programs for homeless young adults (ages 16-24): an independent living program (Devonshire) and a group-living environment (Arnett House), as well as non-residential case management. The program aims to provide care and support in a safe environment, help youth develop independent living skills, and address the root causes of their homelessness to ensure stable housing. This role involves supervising and supporting program staff, including professional development and competency in trauma-informed interventions. This is a twelve (12) month full-time position.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Service or related field AND 2 years' management or supervisor experience OR equivalent combination
- Driver's license
- Strong Knowledge of child and adolescent development
- Knowledge of youth serving systems
- Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent literacy and communication skills
- Knowledge of community resources
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
Nice To Haves
- Master's Degree preferred
Responsibilities
- Oversight of outreach, service delivery, utilization, and efficacy, including: data collection, outcome measurement, record keeping, and report generation
- Personnel recruitment, screening, hiring, orientation, training, and support through supervision and professional development planning
- Monitors apartments/office conditions and works with the Facilities Director to address maintenance issues
- Networking/partnering with other youth-serving agencies to coordinate the effective use of resources
- Maintenance of appropriate therapeutic relationship, including compliance with the agency's Code of Ethics and/or other professional code of conduct, as appropriate
- Crisis response and intervention
- Client Screening, Intake, and Assessment
- Oversight of the development, implementation, ongoing assessment, and coordination of client case management needs, services, and plans
- Client advocacy, as needed and appropriate
- Transportation of program participants, as required and consistent with agency policy
