Responsible for all aspects of program management for specific programs, as outlined by the General Manager or designated person. This includes managing programs from prototypes and pre-production samples through production start-up, customer launch, and ongoing monitoring throughout production. The role involves managing all engineering changes for the assigned programs, ensuring products are manufactured to all engineering, customer, and manufacturing specifications. The Program Manager will be consulted and involved in resolving quality concerns and ensuring all drawings and specifications are up-to-date and meet customer requirements. This position requires maintaining open communication between various departments such as production, tool room, quality assurance, and engineering, as well as with associates at other Multimatic Divisions. Regular updates on program status must be provided to management, with immediate escalation of critical items. The role acts as a liaison between the customer and the company, providing technical support on product launches and maintaining customer correspondence. Responsibilities also include investigating and presenting cost-saving proposals, participating in customer presentations, tracking project correspondence, and staying abreast of new technologies to enhance company profitability. The Program Manager will conduct engineering and manufacturing feasibility studies, prepare internal quotes and customer breakdowns, analyze rejected quotes for improvements, and assist in procuring quotes for cost-saving proposals. Establishing program timing parameters, ensuring schedules are maintained, and analyzing tooling and manufacturing processes for cost improvements are key duties. Collaboration with the Process Engineer and department managers to plan and implement new or revised process flows for improved efficiency is expected. The role involves providing direction to the Continuous Improvement Team (C.I.T.), reviewing projects with the team and General Manager, and participating in future business opportunities. Assisting in procuring and sourcing tooling and equipment, ensuring compliance with company and customer specifications, and participating in VAVE workshops are also part of the role. Working as a team to establish measurement indicators for cost improvements and efficiencies, maximizing company profitability, and maintaining confidentiality are essential. The Program Manager will participate in and provide expert advice to "Employee Involvement Teams", aid in meeting business plan objectives, maintain good employee relations, observe safety rules, and uphold business ethics. Compliance with ISO 14001 / TS16949 standards and legislative requirements of OHSA is mandatory. Regular customer contact, including personal visits, is required, along with continuous updates to the AGM/BDM regarding program status. The ability to work independently, present a strong company image, maintain program ownership, and coordinate effectively with others is crucial. Non-conforming products or processes must be stopped immediately, and supervisors informed. Environmental due diligence, minimizing harmful accidents, and following environmental guidelines are also required. Meticulous maintenance of program documentation, including quote logs, spreadsheets, feasibility forms, meeting minutes, task assignments, timelines, cost trackers, gate reviews, capital spending, and tooling investment, is necessary. Issuing ECN’s and conducting kick-off meetings are also part of the responsibilities. Performs other duties as determined by the General Manager and AGM/BDM.
