Program Manager Technology & Strategic Initiatives

Boundless NetworkAustin, TX
$140,000 - $205,000

About The Position

Boundless is looking for a strategic Program Manager to oversee a wide range of initiatives across the company – many of which are currently disconnected, unevenly structured, or in need of clearer ownership. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in ambiguity and is energized by building clarity, process, and alignment where they don’t fully exist yet. You will act as a strategic operator who not only manages programs but helps define how we manage programs. This includes introducing structure, improving visibility, and partnering with leadership to shape priorities. If you enjoy clearing the fog and turning organizational “noise” into clarity – in a collaborative way – this role will be a great fit.

Requirements

  • 5-10+ years of experience in program management or strategic operations.
  • Demonstrable record of bringing clarity and structure to ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills paired with the ability to operationalize ideas into actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency with program management and collaboration tools (Asana, Jira, Smartsheet, Notion, etc.)
  • Experience leading cross-functional technology, software, or digital transformation programs.
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, Scrum, Kanban, and software development processes.
  • Experience managing complex dependencies across product, engineering, and business teams.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into actionable program plans and delivery milestones.
  • Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, Monday.com, or similar project and portfolio management platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading programs within organizations that are growing, evolving, and subject to operational change due to industry changes
  • Background in PMO creation, cross-functional leadership, or transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive progress in matrixed or decentralized environments.
  • Experience supporting SaaS, platform, marketplace, or technology-enabled businesses.
  • PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, SAFe, or equivalent certification.
  • Familiarity with software release management, change management, and product development frameworks.
  • Experience building program governance structures for software delivery organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, organize, and lead a portfolio of strategic business and technology programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and product roadmaps.
  • Partner with leadership to translate business goals into program priorities, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
  • Provide strategic insight into which initiatives matter most, what’s blocking progress, and where and when to shift effort and/or accountability.
  • Assess current initiatives and create a coherent view of what exists and assign priority.
  • Build lightweight program frameworks and operating processes that help align teams, establish clear communication, and deliver consistently.
  • Introduce metrics, tools, and reporting that improve transparency without creating unnecessary “red-tape”.
  • Act as the “glue” between teams, ensuring decisions, dependencies, and risks are surfaced and managed proactively.
  • Facilitate clearly to help teams understand who owns what, what’s happening when, and how their work fits into big picture goals.
  • Drive alignment across teams with different priorities, working styles, and levels of process maturity.
  • Coordinate across teams to ensure that efforts are not competing or duplicated.
  • Identify and proactively manage technical, operational, and organizational risks that may impact delivery.
  • Ensure requirements, milestones, and success metrics are clearly defined and communicated across stakeholders.
  • Help the organization shift from reactive, one-off execution toward disciplined, repeatable management practices.
  • Support leaders by providing insights and structure that enable better, more informed decision-making.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, and Operations teams to plan and deliver technology initiatives that support business objectives.
  • Establish and manage program roadmaps across multiple software projects, ensuring alignment of priorities, resources, dependencies, and timelines.
  • Drive cross-functional coordination throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements definition through deployment and post-launch measurement.
  • Facilitate Agile delivery practices, including sprint planning, backlog prioritization, release planning, and risk management.
  • Monitor program health through key delivery metrics, ensuring visibility into scope, schedule, quality, and business outcomes.
