About The Position

We are currently in search of a Program Manager - Team Lead to join our Program Management department of the Marquardt Group in our location Rochester Hills (USA). The Program Manager - Team Lead for BU EAS is responsible for leading, supervising, and ensuring training for a team of Program Managers (2-3). In addition, the Manager will serve as a working manager being responsible for managing projects and ensuring that customer demands, overall project timing, and financial targets are met. This position will lead a project team from development through series production, acting as the primary point of communication between the customer and the project team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in project or program/project management with experience serving as a leader with direct reports
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Proficiency with project management software, ideally MS Project
  • Advance computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MRP Software (SAP is preferred)
  • Understanding of budgetary control and resource allocation procedures
  • Ability to create a sense of community amongst members of the program management team and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to exercise coaching skills to ensure Program Managers are properly managing the customer, motivating the internal team, and supporting them to resolve conflicts in a win/win fashion
  • Advanced verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including group presentation for large and small groups made up of project teams, management, and customers
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, sales representatives, managers, employees, and the public
  • Ability to comprehend complex verbal and written instructions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within the automotive industry or working with electronics or electromechanical components is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all the efforts to have the Program Managers follow the internal product development procedure
  • Review the Program Managers’ project budgets by monitoring the costs against planned, as the program progresses
  • Support the Program Managers to plan the program in R-Plan and monitor its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate
  • Manage and analyze open issues or potential program challenges
  • Coordinate ongoing analyses of projects and development activities to identify cost saving opportunities, quality improvements, and process improvements
  • Build, manage and motivate the Program Management team
  • Ensure quality and overall integrity of the programs
  • Ensure programs are in accordance with the program plan and meet customer and internal quality, timing, and budget
  • Work together with internal management teams and customer management teams to plan, develop, control, and direct programs
  • Facilitate cross functional team meetings (Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Sales, etc.) in order to support successful programs
  • Communicate and facilitate closure of issues with all parties (PM, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing) as required
  • Manage the risks to the program’s successful outcome
  • Report progress of the program and escalate issues when necessary to appropriate leadership
  • Support sales team in presenting new technologies and products to existing customers and current products to potential new customers
