About The Position

The Student Leadership and Success Department is a unique prestigious organization designed to ensure that first-generation high achieving college students are successful in meeting their academic, career, personal goals. The program provides opportunities, resources, skills development, connects with mentors, and helps prepare them for future careers. Their focus is on successfully navigating through college with strong support systems. Creating a welcoming environment and building a sense of community and trust are priorities for the department. The President’s cabinet, mentors, academic advisors, counselors, faculty, and staff are part of a support structure that helps guide students every step of the way. The Program Manager intern position is an entry-level position that supports program and event planning, marketing, and data analysis and reporting for the SLS department.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree with relevant majors
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program planning best practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program evaluation
  • Considerable knowledge of event and workshop planning strategies
  • Current knowledge of sponsorship and fundraising best practices.
  • Strong presentation, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to collect and analyze program data to establish annual goals and objectives
  • Ability to communicate effectively with wide populations verbally and in writing
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Participates in off-campus and on-campus events supporting the SLS department.
  • Develops a vision, plans, marketing strategies, and budgets to implement successful programs, workshops and events.
  • Collect, maintain, and utilize assessment data to evaluate and enhance program planning.
  • Recruits, coordinates with, and evaluates the work of workshop facilitators and speakers.
  • Collaborate with UNT Dallas and program counterparts to ensure effective program implementation.
