About The Position

The position serves as a key liaison between nursing leadership, clinical staff, interdisciplinary teams, and external accrediting bodies to promote a culture of inquiry, shared governance, patient-centered care, and professional development. The program manager coordinates Magnet documentation and readiness activities while also developing and sustaining nursing research and EBP initiatives that strengthen nursing practice and professional engagement.

  • Develop and review quality metric reports.
  • Identify performance gaps and recommend improvement strategies.
  • Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary teams to design, implement, and evaluate nurse-led research, EBP, and QI projects.
  • Improve outcomes and advance professional practice.
  • Develop educational programs related to nursing research, EBP, innovation, and Magnet principles.
  • Interpret nursing-sensitive indicators, including NDNQI data.
  • Support the preparation and submission of IRB applications.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and ethical standards.
  • Mentor and empower nurses to participate in research and EBP activities.
  • Contribute to dissemination efforts by assisting with the preparation of abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Maintain current knowledge of research methodology, data analysis, and Magnet expectations.
  • Align Magnet initiatives with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Magnet designation and redesignation activities, including gap assessments, documentation, site visit preparation, and ongoing compliance with Magnet standards.
  • Designs and implements strategies to enhance Shared Governance and promote evidence-based practice.
  • Acts as a resource to Shared Governance Councils and Magnet Champions, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Develops and reviews quality metric reports, identifies performance gaps, and recommends improvement strategies aligned with Magnet standards.
  • Collaborates with nurses and interdisciplinary teams to design, implement, and evaluate nurse-led research, EBP, and QI projects that improve outcomes and advance professional practice aligned with Magnet and AH strategic initiatives.
  • Develop educational programs related to nursing research, EBP, innovation, and Magnet principles.
  • Collaborates with Nursing Quality to interpret nursing-sensitive indicators, including NDNQI data.
  • Supports the preparation and submission of IRB applications and ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and ethical standards related to research and professional nursing practice.
  • Mentors and empowers nurses at the unit and council level to participate in research and EBP activities that strengthen the culture of inquiry.
  • Contributes to dissemination efforts by assisting with the preparation of abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for internal and external presentations.
  • Engages in ongoing professional development to maintain current knowledge of research methodology, data analysis, and Magnet expectations.
  • Works closely with the CNO, Nursing Executive Council, and other nursing leaders to align Magnet initiatives with organizational goals.
