About The Position

To serve as a Project Manager for the Commander's Resolution Office (CRO) for HQ AFGSC. This position is responsible for developing and implementing standardized project management methodologies, aligning the program portfolio with AFGSC strategic goals, and providing analytical insight to support senior leader decision-making. The Project Manager will oversee the complete lifecycle of command-directed projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and effective use of resources.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement standardized project management methodologies, templates, tools, and performance metrics; advise HQ AFGSC on the application of project and program management principles.
  • Oversee application of project management processes, procedures, and tools to effectively manage AFGSC projects and support the needs of the mission; monitor performance, budget, schedule, scope, and risk across the portfolio of CC-directed projects and initiatives; maintain a centralized portfolio of all ongoing and proposed CC-directed initiatives for HQ AFGSC; support AFGSC senior leaders with visibility into project status through dashboards, reports, and performance reviews.
  • Conduct analysis on project management effectiveness, monitoring KPIs and project milestones; collaborate with HQ AFGSC senior leaders on project management implementation and improvements to enhance project management value and performance.
  • Provide AFGSC/CC and CRC with analytical insight into operational and organizational areas of concern, project efficiency and effectiveness rates, and other data-driven metrics necessary for informed decision-making.
  • Validate completeness of priority projects as determined by the AFGSC/CC and evaluate Measures of Performance (MOPs) and Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs) prior to closure.
  • Promote the use of best practices (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Lean) based on project type and complexity.
  • Collaborate with HQ AFGSC staff to ensure efficient, coordinated execution of project management processes; ensure consistency in how projects are initiated, planned, executed, and closed.
  • Provide guidance to HQ AFGSC and subordinate units on conducting timely, cost-effective planning and execution of projects to successfully deliver results according to established MOEs, as requested.
  • Provide guidance to HQ AFGSC and subordinate units on ensuring scheduling and execution of multi-project portfolios remain within asset/resource capacity constraints, as requested.
  • Assist HQ AFGSC in coordinating action to resolve emerging risks, and communicate status to stakeholders during project execution, as requested.
  • Support root cause analysis and resolution of programmatic issues, roadblocks, or conflicts; develop and track mitigation plans to address program/project challenges proactively.
  • Serve as the central liaison for cross-functional coordination among project stakeholders; facilitate stakeholder engagement plans to ensure transparency and buy-in across all levels.
  • Work independently, or under the general direction of senior-level company management or government supervisor, on all phases of performance, including project management, coordination of resource needs, and coordination with corporate resources and management.
  • Report to the Director of Data Engineering and Analytics and the USG supervisor on contract and task performance and issues.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with USG and SBCC staff and other agencies to share information and learn the latest developments in analytical tools and techniques to assist USG with mission-related work efficiently.
