About The Position

The Program Manager I is responsible for being the technical interface between Schaeffler and the customer and is held accountable for ensuring profitability, timing, and performance of projects. This position must bring parties together to ensure the success of a project and assertively react if profitability, timing, or performance is threatened. This position is responsible for the scope of a program, and it is critical that there is a strong understanding of Schaeffler products to the dimensional level. The holder of this position will guard against project scope creep by tracking cost, time, and performance with the customer. The Program Manager I is expected to extremely responsive to customer requests and must act quickly and decisively. The Program Manager I documents agreements, customer needs, feedback and requests and transparently shares this information with the team. Act as escalation point of contact within defined escalation paths. This position must be able to drive agreements in real time. Travel is required for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • 3 or more years of automotive engineering experience.
  • Advanced engineering & physics knowledge.
  • Practical and applicable knowledge of vehicle systems.
  • Leadership ability and delegation skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and make recommendations and decisions.
  • Ability to influence while being open to technical feedback.
  • Authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship.

Responsibilities
