About The Position

Children’s Mercy Camber Olathe is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Program Manager I to provide inclusive leadership within our residential and psychiatric treatment programs. This role is responsible for overseeing program operations, supporting staff development, ensuring regulatory compliance, and helping create safe, trauma-informed environments where patients can heal and thrive. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can balance operational oversight with compassionate care while motivating teams and driving program excellence.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required
  • Two or more years in a management role OR four or more years of direct care experience in a residential and/or psychiatric hospital setting, or a combination of management and direct care experience totaling four or more years
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills required
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced behavioral health environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Human Services, Education, Criminal Justice, Criminology, or related field preferred
  • Experience supporting compliance, staff development, and program operations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging, respectful, and inclusive leadership to multidisciplinary teams
  • Oversee daily program operations to ensure quality patient care and treatment engagement
  • Participate in treatment planning and ensure treatment goals are implemented through programming and active treatment
  • Ensure patient rights, dignity, and essential needs are consistently met
  • Evaluate staffing needs and coordinate recruitment, onboarding, retention, and development efforts
  • Monitor program stability and adjust resources to enhance safety and effectiveness
  • Lead staff accountability, coaching, performance management, and compliance oversight
  • Oversee documentation audits and implement strategies to improve compliance and quality
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, licensing standards, and accreditation requirements
  • Coordinate staffing, supplies, reporting, scheduling, and operational resources
  • Promote trauma-informed care practices including TST, PBIS, Resilience Curriculum, SCM, and Ukeru
  • Participate in administrator on-call responsibilities as required
  • Foster collaboration across interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and staff engagement
