About The Position

Strategies to Empower People is seeking a full-time Program Manager for its Behavioral Support Services program. This role involves coordinating, developing, and implementing community-based supported living services for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) who face consistent and severe behavioral and medical challenges. The Program Manager works with a team of Directors, Managers, and Field Supervisors to oversee services in the Sacramento area. This position requires direct engagement with individuals who may exhibit aggressive behaviors in their homes and communities. Responsibilities span administrative duties like documentation and reports, supervising field staff, conducting on-site client assessments, providing hands-on support, and developing client plans. The manager directly supervises field supervisors and one-on-one staff, ensuring the health, safety, and success of both clients and employees. Due to the needs of the client population, the role also involves implementing crisis intervention plans, writing therapeutic treatment plans, conducting quality assurance checks, and other high-level supervisory and management tasks. This is a salaried exempt position with an on-call schedule Monday through Friday and rotating on-call weekends, indicating it is not a standard 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. role, but rather requires the manager to be a constant and accessible resource.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years experience working directly with individuals who have Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD population)
  • At least three (3) years experience working directly with individuals who have regular and consistent behavioral challenges, including physical aggression, elopement, self-injurious behaviors, and other challenges
  • At least two (2) years of supervisory and budgetary/finance experience (supervising staff, not individuals with disabilities)
  • Understanding of Supported Living Services (SLS)
  • Understanding of the Medi-Cal system
  • Aptitude with using different standard electronics, computer and database systems
  • Licensed and insured driver
  • Clean driving record (no excessive points, and no DUIs/wet-and-reckless in the past 10 years)

  • Educational background (BA/MA) in a related field, such as Psychiatry or Social Work

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, develop and implement community-based supported living programs for disabled adults with behavioral and medical challenges

  • Directly supervise field supervisors and staff who work one-on-one with clients

  • Conduct quality assurance checks
  • Meet other high-supervisory and management tasks
