Program Manager, Data Transformation

Ōura•San Francisco, CA
•$147,900 - $203,000•Hybrid

About The Position

As Program Manager, Data Transformation at Oura, you will run the day-to-day program engine that turns business data into governed, trusted, decision-ready metrics. Working within the Data Transformation program alongside the Staff Program Manager, you will own delivery for assigned data domains, including intake, prioritization, tracking, ownership, certification, and reporting. Initial focus areas include Hardware and Supply Chain. You will enforce a three-path model for data requests and metrics: Directional (fit for use and fast), Governed (for executive, board, investor, or external reporting, with a certification path), and Not ours (operational or application work routed to the owning business team). You will drive program work, including sprints where useful, so certification and delivery commitments are completed. The role connects Hardware and Supply Chain teams—including manufacturing, quality, logistics, sourcing, planning, and new product introduction—with Data Engineering and Analytics. The goal is to ensure metrics relied on by executives, Finance, and auditors have a consistent definition, a single owner, and a clear path from directional to governed to certified. This hybrid role is based out of Oura's San Francisco office.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in program management, technical program management, or business operations, including experience supporting data, analytics, or operations teams.
  • Experience running cross-functional programs with many stakeholders and competing priorities without formal authority.
  • Experience with metric governance or controls work, including definitions, ownership, documentation, and formal sign-off.
  • Comfort working in Databricks or a similar lakehouse: navigating the catalog, reading SQL queries or models to understand metric calculations, and spot-checking numbers against source tables.
  • Working understanding of data pipelines and transformation layers such as dbt, including tracing lineage from source systems to reported numbers and explaining where metrics are computed.
  • Experience with data quality controls, including defining validation tests, reading test results, and tracing failures to root cause.
  • Ability to uphold processes with senior stakeholders, including redirecting requests while maintaining relationships.
  • Hands-on experience with work-tracking tools such as Jira and running sprints or lightweight agile cadences.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including status reporting for senior audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with hardware, manufacturing, quality, logistics, sourcing, or supply planning.
  • Background in consumer hardware, wearables, medical devices, or another regulated hardware business.
  • Exposure to financial reporting, SOX-style controls, audit preparation, or IPO readiness.
  • Experience at a high-growth or pre-IPO company.
  • Experience working with distributed teams across US and European time zones.
  • Comfort using modern AI tooling to speed up analysis, documentation, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Take business metrics from informal tracking to full certification, with a locked definition, a single accountable owner, and documented lineage and controls.
  • Ensure every key metric in assigned domains has a clear owner and approver, and keep ownership current as the business changes.
  • Triage incoming data requests according to intended use and required rigor, and route work owned by other teams to the appropriate team.
  • Run a structured intake process with clear priorities, business justification, and reliable response times.
  • Drive cross-functional programs to completion across Data Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Hardware, and IT, using agile practices where useful.
  • Maintain accurate and visible program plans with named leads, dates, and trustworthy status.
  • Track data issues and metric regressions through resolution, and support documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Communicate progress and data health clearly to senior leaders and drive adoption of standardized metric definitions.
