About The Position

The Program Manager, Buildings in the Mayor’s Office of Capital Project Development will support the team responsible for capital project coordination and implementation across City Agencies. This role involves serving as a liaison between the Deputy Mayor for Operations and capital project teams at critical infrastructure agencies, supporting strategic planning and project execution for large-scale infrastructure projects, and facilitating interagency coordination. The position requires monitoring best practices, making policy recommendations, and supporting the implementation of infrastructure projects to advance neighborhood planning initiatives. Additionally, the role involves coordinating Deputy Mayor briefings, participating in meetings, developing City Hall coordination systems, and coordinating across Deputy Mayor teams.

Requirements

  • Experience working in capital project delivery and interagency coordination.
  • Business operations, process design, and project management experience.
  • Ability to operate independently with excellent time management skills and confirmed ability to deliver on multiple, competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to effectively interact with people and partners across all levels of City government.
  • Proven ability to follow through on complex projects from ideas to implementation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and compelling presentations for an array of audiences.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience working in capital project management and capital delivery for large-scale infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between the Deputy Mayor for Operations and the capital project teams at the City’s critical infrastructure agencies such as the Departments of Design & Construction, Department of Parks and Recreation, Department of Citywide Administrative Services and others.
  • Support strategic planning and project execution for large-scale infrastructure projects across the five boroughs.
  • Facilitate interagency coordination, set timelines and milestones, review capital improvement plans, and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Monitor best practices, latest trends, and make policy and operational recommendations for high-profile capital projects.
  • Support the implementation of infrastructure projects necessary to advance neighborhood planning initiatives.
  • Coordinate Deputy Mayor briefings, prep materials, and calendaring as appropriate and support DMO staff members as needed.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings with or on behalf of the Deputy Mayor to ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Develop and facilitate systems and processes for City Hall coordination.
  • Coordinate across Deputy Mayor teams.
