About The Position

Easterseals MORC is seeking a Program Manager for their Behavioral Health Urgent Care. They are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others and making a difference in the lives of the individuals they serve. This role involves managing administrative and programmatic functions, leading a clinical team, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality behavioral health and substance use disorder crisis services.

Requirements

  • Possess an LMSW from the Michigan Board of Examiners of Social Workers, an LPC from the Michigan Board of Licensing and Regulations of Counselors, or have a limited license or be fully licensed as a Psychologist from the Michigan Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
  • At least five (5) years of full-time casework experience or therapy experience.
  • At least two (2) years of supervisory experience in a substance use disorder or mental health setting.
  • One (1) year of experience working within acute care/crisis services.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in current practices including, but not limited to, person-centered planning, community-based services and supports available for adults and families, crisis intervention, and transitional planning.
  • Possess a valid motor vehicle operator or chauffeur's license.
  • Knowledge and understanding of co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance abuse); stages of change (transtheoretical model); phases of recovery; and motivational interviewing/enhancement therapy.
  • Knowledgeable with Dual Diagnosis capability for substance use and mental health programs.
  • Familiar with a variety of outcome measures for psychiatric and co-occurring substance use, medical, and other disorders.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge of diagnostic criteria for psychiatric and substance use disorders and treatment options.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the array of behavioral health and substance use disorder crisis services available within the community.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of crisis intervention strategies.
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify stage of change and use interventions consistent with stage of treatment.
  • Knowledgeable of evidence-based practices utilized within Easterseals MORC, particularly those that can be employed in the Behavioral Health Urgent Care setting.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of principles of trauma informed care.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all administrative and programmatic functions related to assigned program(s).
  • Enforce agency policies and procedures, and develop new procedures to support the Mission, Vision, and Values of Easterseals MORC.
  • Develop and maintain protocols and toolkits, including behavioral health and substance use crisis intervention techniques for each discipline within the team.
  • Conduct team meetings to review problem areas and develop solutions, and review case records with subordinate staff to ensure quality.
  • Instruct, assign, schedule, check, and appraise performance of staff. Hire and make recommendations regarding disciplinary action and discharge, pay increases, and/or promotions.
  • Create and maintain staff schedules ensuring adequate coverage during Behavioral Health Urgent Care hours, including extended hours (some evenings and weekends).
  • Identify stage of change and use interventions consistent with stage of treatment. Assist staff in developing strength-based, stage-wise treatment matched crisis intervention, treatment plans, and aftercare.
  • Prevent unnecessary emergency department visits by ensuring the provision of evidenced-based, appropriate, comprehensive, and satisfactory Behavioral Health Urgent Care services.
  • Ensure individuals receiving Behavioral Health Urgent Care are provided with appropriate aftercare plans and ensure follow-up activities occur.
  • Oversee and deliver acute care/crisis intervention for a complex population of members in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team model.
  • Provide effective supervision and leadership of clinical care within the interdisciplinary team, ensuring the highest quality of care.
  • Model and use the Spirit of Motivational Interviewing in all interactions with staff, individuals, and stakeholders.
  • Provide outcome and strength-based supervision to staff utilizing a range of supervision techniques to foster professional development and performance, develop skill sets, and increase individual outcomes.
  • Conduct clinical case reviews that are competency-based, strength-based, culturally relevant, and focus on improving individual outcomes.
  • Assist staff in improving and updating professional skills by providing information on pertinent conferences, seminars, new techniques, and current/pending legislation.
  • Orient and develop new staff.
  • Act as a liaison with other Management Team members, community agencies, advocacy groups, and other mental health and substance use service providers.
  • Identify, monitor, and conduct improvement strategies based on program outcome measurements, adherence to contractual and budget standards, and licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Utilize outcome measurements in supervision, including developmental tools to improve staff performance.
  • Provide support, education, and reinforce the use of prescribed medications to treat substance use and behavioral health disorders.
  • Ensure full compliance with developing and monitoring PIPs in accordance with the Supervision Policy.
  • Ensure monthly supervision/coaching requirements are met for all assigned staff as defined by Supervision Guidelines.
  • Ensure full compliance in completing annual performance evaluations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of principles of trauma-informed care and teach and ensure its use by the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Willingness to support and assist individuals with trauma-related issues.
  • Participate in after-hours on-call as required.
